This is my pirate alter ego/original ficticious pirate character for Mel's Capn jack Contest!

Read along me mateys! Arrr!

Name: "R"
Age: From 16-20s
Nationality: Caribbean
Social Status: Mine worker/Pirate
Talents/Skills: Due to her years as a mine worker she has developed a keen sense of vision. Her aim is also impecable, for what good is a miner that cannot hit the same spot twice?
She has impresive strength and resistance for her small frame (5ft.) "R" has enough stamina to take her through the day without a full meal, and usually draws her strength when she is really pissed off.
Physical Appearance: 5 feet tall, long honey hair and usually sports a mellow look on her face. Not chubby but far from being skinny, more like voluptuous, though her body shape is hidden behind her raggy clothes.
How she Dresses: "R" is usually seen wearing some type of old, loose blouse with her scarf wrapped around her waist. She wears a medallion made of pewter made by her father on her neck, and two gold earrings.
On top of her head, she wears a pair of rustic goggles, made from glass bottle bottoms and leather. She also wears a shoddy bandana cuz she hates tying up her hair in a pony tail.
To protect her hands and give her more grip while shoveling dirt, she wears gloves made out of thick socks.
"R" doesn't care much about fashion, but she wears two belts on her hips to look more menacing. (she thinks this will give the impression that she carries much more weapons...PFFtttt!!!)
Her baggy pants are dusty and torn just below the knee, and she always wears a pair of old, mud encrusted mining boots.
Weapons?: She is extremely profficient with a shovel, but also deadly. Unlike any pirate, she uses her shovel as her main weapon, with which she delivers powerfull bone-shattering blows.
She also carries an old pistol she stole as a protective plan-B, and a rusty old pocket knife.
She is capable of turning almost anything she gets her hands on, into a weapon. From a coconut to a pistol, her mind is her best weapon, but she rather escape from a fight with her hands full of treasure than stay and win it over a fight.
Hobbies: A very creative lass, "R" spends her free time at sea inventing odd gadgets with just about anything. She also plays the harmonica (very horribly,I might add) and loves to spend countless hours teaching bad words to Mr.Cotton's Parrot.
"R" also loves to munch on sugar cane, and carries
a pocket full of sugar cane strands. She is almost always seen with a cane in her mouth.
Personality: Though she is mostly a mellow and laid back girl, she can work extremelly hard if she is needed to. Sarcastic and honest in opinion, she is never afraid of back talking to her superiors if she deems it appropiate.
Even though she's had a life full of exploitation, she does not seem to hold any rage towards anybody, but is rather contempt with having enough money to get by.
Witty, persistent and an oddball, "R" shortened her name to just one letter, to subconciously make every pirate say her name at least once a day...Arrrrr.

Did I mention she is somewhat of an oddball?

Brief History of this Character:
Since the age of 6,"R" became an orphan after losing both her parents in a mining accident.
She then was forced to work double time to make up for her parent's lost labor, at Costa Rica's mineral deposits, mining for gold and stones.
Her village was a desirable target for pirates looking for easy treasure, and it was not long before The habitants and the miners of her town had an encounter with Captain Jack Sparrow and his tripulation.
After losing most of her possesions and home, blinded by rage, she stowed away on the Black Pearl with nothing but her shovel, to take her vengeance.
But after spending a night inside a sack of potatoes, she reflected that she would lose her life if she appeared as an enemy.
After presenting herself to the tripulation as an aspiring member, Captain Jack accepted her, after she shared with them the locations of many other mines.
"R" has since really enjoyed her new life on the sea, full of adventure, and the ocassional digging; since she is the one that has to dig all the holes in the sand when there's a treasure chest to be buried.
